During the book The Outsiders my character I had learned the most about was Johnny, I had learned many things about Johnny, he wasn't a bad person, he was a quiet boy who had a bad life in a bad side of town. But his friend always loved him, Johnny was caring and loving, even though Johnny's parents never payed attention to him or anything he wasn't ruthless. Johnny changed many times in the book, when I first learned about Johnny he was a shy boy who never really talked, but when the time came Johnny would be brave and stand up for a girl or whoever was being pushed around like when they went to the drive in. Or when Ponyboy was getting beat up by the socs Johnny just wanted his friends to be okay. When running away Johnny was smart and thought of a new look so Ponyboy and him wouldn't be thrown in jail or something. What I like most about Johnny is that he wasn't stone cold like the others, when he was in last minuets he wasn't mad at Ponyboy for anything he just told Ponyboy a quote from a book, he did this so Ponyboy wouldn't end up cold hearted or anything.

One song that represents Johnny would be True Colors by Cyndi Lauper. I picked this song because it does show how brave he was especially when he went to save the children the church he was showing his true colors of being brave, he was probably scared but that didn't stop him, even though Johnny didn't make it to the end of the book he still wasn't forgotten especially from Dallas, Johnny was the one who kept the group together.

  1. Good start here! You included some interesting details, but try not to summarize too much - rather, analyze. Also, including the lyrics to the song will make your point much clearer.
