2017 Goals

I want to better myself as a person to be more helpful with people, next year when I start to graduate and be able to do more things I want to better myself by helping others, it could be in the community, in my school, or even my own house. I can enhance by asking people who I know if the need support with any of there needs, like shoveling snow, helping out with there groceries. I see myself helping people like domestic violence victims or volunteering to help out at a nursing home. I want to persevere to see myself doing things like that to help other people in need.

The Cause and Effect of Domestic Violence against children

Seven year old Alice is running and playing around with her friends. It is in the heat of the hottest summer in the middle of July. Alice stops every now and then because her thick black sweater makes her sweat even more. Alice is having some chest and stomach pains. A friend  of Alice's  asks if she can take her sweater off, but she changes her attitude, and starts to say in a mean tone "my dad doesn't want me to take my sweater off or I will get in trouble." Alice continues to give her friend an attitude. This keeps Alice's friend suspicious that maybe something is happening to Alice. Could there be a possibility of Alice's father is being physically abusive to her? Alice's mood and attitude have changed because she does not want anyone to know what is happening to her.

This scenario happens everyday in real life to children in America, the cause and effect of this can be both in a positive way or negative one. Most people who are involved in child abuse are parents or child care givers. Officer Perez from the Cicero Police Department quotes, "I usually see physical abuse against children every week, the abusers are mostly the mothers and father."

Children's brain are not fully developed at this time. When children are surrounded by physical mistreatment and/or when their guardian is physically abusing them, for their own emotional reasons,  sometimes children grow up thinking it's okay to act out and behave in a negative way. Some children like to push around people and take over someone in a bad way, some children can have permanent effects, like a physical disability or a mental disability according to the website  domesticviolenceshelter.com.

This type of abuse can take place where the guardian is alone with the child and is isolated. A worker who used to work for a Domestic Violence shelter for four years says, "When I used to work at a Domestic Violence Shelter there were many women with children, usually the children didn't have many friends and were isolated." She goes on to say that there were children there who had it really bad, one girl had been mistreated so badly that her arm had been totally broken, but some of the affects could've been good, she goes on to say that some of the effects had helped the children, she says years later she had seen the children that had come to get help at the Domestic Violence shelter and had said that the shelter had helped them a great deal.

This abuse usually starts when the guardian is having a problem in life, or is emotionally unstable. A statistic by domesticshelters.org was taken and said children who experienced child abuse are 59% more likely to be arrested as a juvenile, 28% more likely to be arrested as an adult and 30% more likely to commit violence crime, this proves that children that have been physically abused can have an effect on their life.
Dr. Den Karrow from 58th Avenue Baptist Church had said religiously it is a sin to commit physical or any other abuse to a child, he went on to say it is was an abomination and he wouldn't hesitate calling on someone who he had known who was physically abusing any child.

People can make a change by calling a domestic violence hotline if they know someone or knew someone who has been physically abused. If people are suspicious there are many hotlines to call to get information to know if that child is really being physically abused. Children are often afraid to confide in other adults because they do not know what will happen to them. There is a lot of help out there for children, we can also help others by being a friend and asking if they need help. Sometimes that may be the only way to help.

The Best Gift Ever

  • From what I can jrecall the best gift ever was when I was ten and went to my first concert. I was so excited it was a cliche thing of me to say that I'll obey what ever anyone tells me to do. After my big present people would interpret what I said I did and I was bit embarrassed but still happy that I got tickets to my first concert.

I am grateful for...

I am grateful for my mother because, she does many things for me, especially for when there is no one around for her to help her with us kids, and she tries her hardest to care of us. I'm thankful for my education because I know there are many children that don't get to have a good education like kids like us. I am grateful for my friends because they make me laugh and I know that I could trust them with many things and even if I am very loquacious they still don't mind.

2016 Election Reflection

My thought on this election just in general is kind of worried, now that Donald Trump is going to be president there will be immigrants that have to go back to their country, and I feel worried because some of those people that came here, can't go back to their country even if they wanted to. My thoughts on the election results are surprised, when Hilary Clinton had plenty more votes it took a turn that had shook a lot of people. I would like to be more involved in politics so that I could take my country into the right direction, such as get less debt, less criminal activity, etc. I think some of the most interesting issues in relation to the election  is that people went crazy after Donald Trump became president and that after the election, I did not really see much but of what I saw I hadn't seen Hilary Clinton at alol, or any speech from her, from what I've seen.

Best Day Ever

The best day ever for me was November 2nd 2016, this was the best day ever for me because it was when the Chicago Cubs baseballs team won the World Series, it all had started like a regular day, well kind of. All of my family had knew that this was it, if the cubs lose, we go back home, but if they win, it'll be history. At first everyone was screamed for joy that the Chicago cubs were in the lead, we called friends, family, and just so happy. But then we all had started to worry, the Indians were catching up. Oh no, its tied 6-6, the room went dead silence. No movement, no talking nothing, only stillness, and quiet anger uprising, everything had an edge, one bad move and you bring the whole team down. But a miracle happened, we scored again, and again, and before I knew it, everyone jumped up and down, screaming for joy, the Chicago Cubs had finally did it after 1907, we finally won the world series!

Ever feel revolted from something uncomfortable? Well at Heritage Middle School on October Twentieth 2016 for eight weeks, about twenty to thirty students were learning about what can happen if you do not follow basic rules about safe sexual intercourse. The group of sixth graders were in a big music room while learning about these new things. They were learning these precautions so for later in life they wouldn't make any bad mistakes to guide them a wrong direction which could ruin there lives. So during there class students usually participate in roles where they have to choose during peer pressure on which rode they will choose, and they afterwards they will play games to test there knowledge on what they have learned and get some type of reward for which team who has team the most knowledge. How this can be helpful to everyone? It is very helpful to all sixth grade  students because they  learned about the different diseases that you can get if you chose not to use protection. The consequences are very high. They also know that They have a choice to make. They don't have to be like everyone else, they can choose to say no and practice abstinence.

Throwback Movie

When I was younger I had tons of favorite movies I had enjoyed but my favorite movie of all time would have to be White Chicks. I still watch that movie till this day, the comedy and backstory of it all was my favorite. I used to watch it all the time with my family, we would laugh make popcorn sit on the couch and turn off the light and have a good time. It was my favorite movie mostly because of how two men had to disguise themselves as women and pretend to be twins taking a trip to The Hamptons on a weekend, and the happy ending of course.

During the book The Outsiders my character I had learned the most about was Johnny, I had learned many things about Johnny, he wasn't a bad person, he was a quiet boy who had a bad life in a bad side of town. But his friend always loved him, Johnny was caring and loving, even though Johnny's parents never payed attention to him or anything he wasn't ruthless. Johnny changed many times in the book, when I first learned about Johnny he was a shy boy who never really talked, but when the time came Johnny would be brave and stand up for a girl or whoever was being pushed around like when they went to the drive in. Or when Ponyboy was getting beat up by the socs Johnny just wanted his friends to be okay. When running away Johnny was smart and thought of a new look so Ponyboy and him wouldn't be thrown in jail or something. What I like most about Johnny is that he wasn't stone cold like the others, when he was in last minuets he wasn't mad at Ponyboy for anything he just told Ponyboy a quote from a book, he did this so Ponyboy wouldn't end up cold hearted or anything.

One song that represents Johnny would be True Colors by Cyndi Lauper. I picked this song because it does show how brave he was especially when he went to save the children the church he was showing his true colors of being brave, he was probably scared but that didn't stop him, even though Johnny didn't make it to the end of the book he still wasn't forgotten especially from Dallas, Johnny was the one who kept the group together.

Blogging Tips

To make my blogpost stand out more, I would make better title names, and many images so my blog could stand out. For titles I wouldn't make them sound too dramatic but not boring and plain either, a great title could bring in people and summarizing the blog in a good way could make a huge positive difference and could also give positive comments. I would add in pictures because people think differently and they might not see the same image or same thing I would see so I would add in pictures so we could all see and not get confused or anything.
Metablognition to me is basically blogging about blogging. We blog about what we think of blogging, and how we use it. I don't really use metablognition but if I did I probably would have a lot to say. What I see around me people use metablognition all the time, they use it to promote themselves and even more ways, I think that it's way to help us understand more and get more information about new words and information.

The best trip I have ever been on would be Canada, though I have not been to Canada in ages I can still remember the cool fall weather and bright sunlight clouds in the sky hovering over Niagra Falls. Canada was also the best trip because even though the drive to Canada was long I had spent so much time with my family, playing games, and hurrying to get food and coming back to the car so we could prepare for the long drive still, the pretty lights of other cities glowing in the night and trying out different foods from states we would pass through, the food in Canada I could barely pronounce, but was delicious and going on different rides each day. So Canada has been the best trip ever

Summer Reading Blog 1

In the book Paper Towns by John Green, Margo Roth Spiegleman is a self-absorbed teenage girl who loves mysteries. Margo  never really asks questions she is more of a keep it to yourself girl.  She is antisocial and can be very self-centered at times she can also make you feel like you're being left out. She's a troubled girl they can sneak into parties and have drinks without anyone noticing. Margo is one of the most interesting characters that this book may contain because of how mysterious she really is, she can make you think things that aren't really happening in the book she just wants to manipulate anyone she can in anyway that she can. Margo acts as if she is in control of everything, she acts as if she were an adult. Sneaking into parties and having some underage drinks is something that only someone that is troubled may be doing. It can explain that she is troubled because if her parents let her do this or don't even know that she's doing it then there's something wrong with them. There possibly is something wrong with Margo if she is already doing all of this stuff at this young of an age. Margo is very antisocial and self-centered, you can tell that she is these things by the lack of friends. She doesn't really have anyone to lean on or talk to about things making her feel abandoned at times. In times of the book you can tell that Margo is feeling abandoned because of the way her parents are. They are not the warmest are most welcoming people you will meet.  Because of her parents being that way, she probably feels abandoned. Many times you can also tell the Margo feels as if she is being left out, she doesn't really talk to people and she doesn't really go out to any places with anyone else.  She likes to be by herself because she feels as if she doesn't belong she doesn't want to be with people that she doesn't like, or feel comfortable with. Margo wants to make people think that she is alone and that she doesn't want to be found which is why she doesn't tell anyone that she is leaving. But really, she does want to be found, why else would she leave the notes for Quentin to find?  She must've wanted someone to care for her, to be able to find her to be there for her. She wants someone by her side at all times. Maybe she left those notes to see if someone really did want her, what to see if Quentin really did like her.  In conclusion, Marco was one of the most well thought out characters I have ever read of.  She is so smart and she can make you think of anything. She's able to manipulate anyone, even us as readers. The way she manipulates us is by making us think that she doesn't want people to find her but really she does. Michael Spiegelman is really one of the most interesting characters that there are may ever be, she really is just one huge mystery.

Ten Years from Now

Ten years from now I see myself traveling the world, being a famous professional photographer. I see myself traveling different countries and agencies wanting me to come over and make more models well known. Ten years from now I would like to have my own business inspiring other small photographs and giving them jobs and inspiring them to do what they love.
